The vignette can do just that. Vignettes are the dark edges around your video and photographs. This can be due to a certain type of lens, film, or applied as a digital effect in post production. At Video School Online, we like to add vignettes to some of our videos to create a more dramatic look. It also focuses the attention of the viewer to the center of a video clip.
Adding vignettes to interviews is a great way to focus the viewers attention on the subject of your interviewee. Vignettes can also make dull backgrounds pop!
