How to Associate Multiple Websites with Your YouTube Account

YouTube Cards are amazing because you can link out to relevant content on your website that YouTube viewers might be interested in. To do this, you have to Associate Your Website (so that you can’t just link out to any website… only to websites you own). Up until now, I only thought you could link one website with your YouTube account.

Mark Timberlake of SME Heroes dropped some major knowledge bombs on our latest Passive Income Show. He told us how to associate multiple websites with one YouTube account.

I thought this was such a great thing because up until now, I was having to use the Pretty Link WordPress plugin to mask my Courses.VideoSchoolOnline.com course links as just VideoSchoolOnline.com links. Now I can cut out that one step and link directly to my Courses links.

Here is how to associate multiple websites with your YouTube account.

1. Go to Google Search Console

Either search for ‘Google Search Console’ in Google and click on the first link. Or go to Google.com/Webmasters/Tools

2. Sign in to the Correct Google Account

Click your profile image in the top right and make sure to sign in with the account info associated with your YouTube account.

3. Click Add a Property

4. Type in the URL of Your Website

5.1 Verify Your Website

This is where it can get kind of tricky. There are a few steps to verify your website. First, download the HTML file that is provided. Second, upload the file to your website. On this support page, Google explains some troubleshooting tips for uploading the file to your website. If you don’t know how to do this, there are Alternative Methods (see below)Third, after uploading the file you will visit a URL that Google gives you. Fourth, click the verify button at the bottom of the page.

5.1 Verify Your Website via Alternative Method

If uploading the HTML file is troublesome for you, you can use an alternative method such as: HTML tag, Domain name provider, Google Analytics, or Google Tag Manager.

6. Link Out to Your Website with YouTube Cards

Now that you’ve associated your website(s), you can link out to your different websites via YouTube Cards.

I hope that this tutorial on linking multiple websites with your YouTube account will help you. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!

Cheers,
Phil
